This box was built from a combination of 3/8” walnut heartwood and walnut sapwood.  The walnut heartwood ends were joined to the walnut sapwood sides were joined using double-double box joints.  The cream-colored walnut sapwood and the dark-colored wenge were used the create the contrasting lights and dark colors in the double-double box joints.  The box has a 1/4" solid walnut heartwood sliding top and the bottom is felt-lined.  The dimensions of the box are 9 ¾” x 4 3/8” x 2 5/8”, so it will accommodate paint brushes up to 9” long.  It would make a striking, one-of-a kind addition to any studio.
